CARDINAL NEWS is sharing a report from the south side of Arlington Heights that claims there have been explosive noises different than a firework, gunshot, or thunder during the Labor Day weekend.
A resident in the Heritage Park neighborhood near Golf and Algonquin in Arlington Heights reports that unknown, single loud booms were heard the last two overnights of Sunday/Monday, September 6-7, 2026 and Monday/Tuesday, September 7-8, 2026.
“For the past two nights, my neighbors and I heard a single loud boom. Loud enough to shake the house. It’s obviously not a firework, gunshot, or thunder. The first one was Sept. 7 around 1am. The second was Sept 7 around 10:45pm. Any idea what it could be? Others on the Ring doorbell app don’t have a clue.”
A resident of Elk Grove Village also provided a tip to CARDINAL NEWS reporting loud booms during this time period.

Heard it as well there were a couple over the past hour. It seemed to have knocked out partial power in my home for a bit then came back on after the last explosion sound. So maybe something electrical.
