  1. Cochise County AZ has one of yours in custody on felony human smuggling charges: FYI
Operation Safe Streets – US Border Patrol, CIT – Sheriff’s Office, AZ Department of Public Safety, and Bureau of Land Management Make Apprehensions
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at approximately 4:32 pm, Cochise County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised of a 2019 Mazda Hatchback heading westbound on Highway 92 from Naco Highway which was failing to yield from US Border Patrol Agents.
Sheriff’s Deputies along with AZ DPS Troopers, Bureau of Land Management Officers, and air support were behind the vehicle as it continued to drive erratically and traveling into opposing lanes of traffic in attempts to escape apprehension.
Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team (CIT) members were able to successfully continue in the pursuit before Deputies deployed tire deflation devices near Stump Canyon which caused tire damage and the vehicle to leave the roadway before all fled from the vehicle.
Two male subjects were identified as undocumented immigrants after being taken into custody as well as US Citizen 24-year-old Graesen A Jackson of Schaumburg Illinois who was identified as the driver of the vehicle.
The investigation is continuing with Jackson being booked into the Cochise County Jail on felony Human Smuggling charges and the two migrants were turned over to US Border Patrol for processing.
The vehicle was subsequently reported stolen from the Burger King in Bisbee in this afternoon hours. (We have photos on our FB page: Cochise County Sheriff’s Office – Sheriff Mark J Dannels)
